ABOUT ERIN…

I can definitely say my work has evolved in such a short time beginning with sunsets as my main inspiration. Ever since I was a child, my father loved sunsets. Summer memories with him were always spent on his boat, swimming, spending time with his friends and enjoying evening sunsets over the water. I guess this is where I inherited my love for sunsets. My father passed away in 2014 from cancer. Watching a sunset now brings back so many memories with him that I will cherish forever.

Currently, I am persuing a brand new style on paper for the first time ever! I have always been drawn to the way watercolor moves on paper. It’s translucency. The way overlapping colors of light and dark compliment each other. I’ve also been drawn to texture, as in my sunset pieces. I am also a huge fan of gold, I mean doesn’t gold look good on just about everything?! I have pulled all of these inspirations that resonate with me into this new style on paper.

During college while pursuing my degree in Business, I enrolled in a few basic art classes which gave me the background knowledge in various art techniques. This was by far my favorite course ever during college, but instead of taking that as a hint, I went into accounting. During the time of covid, things became too hard to manage working plus homeschooling, so I decided to stay at home with my kids until things picked up again. Not long after, my 2 daughters requested paintings for their rooms, so I decided to give it a try as I did have a little background in art and to my surprise they were a huge success. From this moment on, I was addicted. I began to experiment with different techniques, substrates and media. I focused on what inspired me as a person, which always was nature, interior design, colors, style & textures.

On my time off from the studio, I enjoy spending time with my best friend I am so blessed to call my husband, my 4 beautiful children & 4 fur babies.
